I've been considering replacing the lug bolts
for my wheels, have a set of Fuchs and Pedrinis, with screw in studs and lug nuts. Has anyone here gone this route? I'm looking for suggestions, recommendations, opinions, reservations. What size studs do I need, where can I find them? Thanks |

for completeness, let me mention that 'back in the day' when these cars were new and Porsche people were un-used to the idea of lug bolts, the threaded studs were sold in sets of 4 -- this was enough for one complete car, because the intent was that you would replace ONE stud per hub giving you a place to 'hang' a wheel for people doing lots of AX.
in that application, they're MAYBE ok. i doubt it's enough of a plus to make it worthwhile, but that's the historical perspective on this part. they were never intended to be used to replace all 4 lug bolts per hub. (when i AXd my GTI and swapped roadwheels at least 4X a weekend, i learned to use a big tapered drift to align one set of holes and support the wheel while i shoved a lug bolt into another hole...) |
