Can anyone tell me the dimensions of factory fog lights and or Camp914 pilot lights? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)
Depth & diameter etc. After a bunch of poking around, all I have seen is everyone doing the same thing or adding large bolt on rally style lights. Thanks for your help guys! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) Matt Update: Dropped the $ and got a set of Speaker 4.5" high end LED lights (Hi/low switchable) Took a ratty set of fog housings: (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/img85.imageshack.us-11125-1332663844.1.jpg) Mounted: (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/img4.imageshack.us-11125-1332663844.2.jpg) Up-close low beam: (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/img690.imageshack.us-11125-1332663844.3.jpg) Crappy picture farther back (tough to get these photo with a cell phone): (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/img513.imageshack.us-11125-1332663844.4.jpg) Having run real Hid projectors before, the light output is just about a bright. I would say that the sharpness of the light is not on par with HID projectors. Matt |

I found a company that makes dot legal LED headlights.
J.W. Speaker The cool thing, is that they are releasing a new item that fits in the factory fog locations of a 914: http://www.jwspeaker.com/products/headlights/#product=500051 These are one-off (not mass produced) lights, and I found a supplier that can get them for $189/each for the low beam & $219 for the low/high beam model. Headlight 4.5" (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/img402.imageshack.us-11125-1318886304.1.jpg) Foglight 4.5" (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/img594.imageshack.us-11125-1318886304.2.jpg) Looks like these lights will also work with the Hella 500 brackets from Rennmental. The lights have a sharp cut-off, and could be a good option for those who have deleted factory headlights. (yes I know headlights that low are not technically legal) For you flip up guys they make 7" LED lights that would work (just very expensive!) 7" headlights (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/img202.imageshack.us-11125-1318886304.3.jpg) Here is a Jeep thread that show output photos for the 7" units: http://forums.jpmagazine.com/70/8461109/je...ghts/index.html BMW thread: http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showt...d.php?t=1498968 |
