I read a lot about the KB Hypereutectic pistons but, I've not really heard about the Silv-o-lites. From what I researched these are hypereutectic pistons as well but, I can't seem to find the part number on the box anywhere online.
Anyone know if these definitely work as the 96mm "Big Bore" kit for a 1.8L? That's what the seller claimed and I got a screamin' deal for these. Seriously, I paid less than a hundred bucks for this set! Anyone? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

They still look high to me, did you actually measure them?
(sorry, I don't trust numbers on a box) |

They still look high to me, did you actually measure them? (sorry, I don't trust numbers on a box) Sorry Mr. Henry, I thought this thread was dead so I did not see your post. I did measure them. Although I did not have mic handy, I used a tape measure and the distance from top of pin location to top of piston is a hair over 1-1/8" which translates to roughly 28.6mm. That's a little shy of your 29.9mm, but i figure it's for one or two reasons (or a combo of the reasons). One is that I used a tape measure. Not the most accurate. Also there are no valve reliefs on the top of the piston so KB added some clearance. Or both reasons? At any rate they'll work for my application. Thank you for your help. |
