So many months back I made a trade for some custom wheels. Well, they are all done and I have them (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)
I painted the centers and weighed them. They came in at 13.5lbs. What does a 5 lug Fuchs weigh? Attached image(s)

So this is 1.5lbs heavier than a 5-lug Fuchs (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Tires that will be mounted are 225 45 RA1s and 3.5 lb's heavier than Dan Gurney AKA American Racing Jon Where those polished and who did the polish? I've been sanding on mine and that is alot of work. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/santa_smiley.gif) It's actually pretty easy. If you want to do the part of the rim where the stem is you will have to dismount the tire. Otherwise, just jack up one rear wheel (chock the front ones for safety) then start the engine and put it in 2nd gear. While the tire is spinning place the "wet sandpaper" over the area you desire to polish, working from 1200 grit thru 2000 grit. Follow up with polishing compound and then a finish compound. You will need a rubber backed sanding pad to hold the sandpaper in place or you will toast your finger tips as all this friction will = heat. I see that I've got a set that I'm just trying to do the rim then I'll paint just the centers like Panasports silver wheel paint. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/santa_smiley.gif) Yours do look great! next time we meet you'll have to tell me how much you have in them without the wife finding out. Paint the rims first then follow above instructions. Takes about 10 min's per rim. ![]() ![]() |
