Well I finally got my white 914. I've wanted a white one since I first started looking over a year ago. Just never found, or missed the right one. Finally bought a yellow 75 last year, 11/2/10 actually, only because it was in such good shape for the price.
But I really wanted a white one. Today I drove to San Jose and met Michael N and his family, and picked up my new car. First let me say Michael and his wife are very nice people, They have two 914's in the garage, a six, and his wife's amazing bumble bee, a really beautiful car. And being the generous person Michael is, he let me take his six for a drive, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) what a great experience, his car is awesome, and it's the first 914 I've driven since 1975, when I first got hooked on these cars, (it was a white one). So thank you Michael, for the drive and my white 914. Its people like him that make 914 World what it is. (oh and you too Andy). Enough talk on with the pictures. This is my new car in Michaels driveway with his cars in the background. ![]() Loaded up ready to go. Actually started and drove it on the trailer.(did I mention its a project car) ![]() Made it home without a scratch, not a new one anyway. ![]() Safe and sound in the garage ![]() ![]() So since the 74 runs, (kinda) I think i'll work on it a little to get it drivable, then drive it until the 75 is finished, Mark at Original Customs is building my 2056 for it now. Then drive the 75 while I do a full restoration on the 74. Its OK to have two....right. More to come, vendors stock your shelves! Thanks for looking, and thanks again Michael. Jeff |

Well I got all my parts from Eric and finished rebuilding all the calipers. Installed them last Friday got them adjusted and bled ( I thought ), they worked much better and I even have a parking brake again.
I drove the car to Sonoma today and had Mark at Original Customs check it over for me. He finished adjusting and bleeding the brakes, what a difference. Then a few shift bushings, and a fully functional heat system, quite a different ride home. Thanks Mark. Mark also found some interesting things about my new car, i assumed it was a 2.0 since the fuel injection and everything looked the same as my 75 2.0. But apparently originally it was a 1.8. The case is a 1.8 case no. But the heads are 2.0 heads and the fuel injection system is from a 2.0. So who knows what the motor actually is until I tear it apart. Guess that extra 2.0 motor I have might come in handy after all. All I know is it's running good, stopping great, and I have heat! Thanks again Mark, and Michael N. Now it's time to get back to work on the 75, with the occasional drive in the new 74 ......1.9? Jeff |
