So I came across this while looking at another thread on Pelican. I've seen the scissor lift's before. I've been scrolling Craigslist for the last year or so for one. While in the other thread there was a link to Harbor freight. scissor lift With one of their 20% off coupons that get's it down to $800. That is very reasonable.
So my question is who has one? Can you pull your motor with one without interference? What are the pro's & cons of them? Old thread I am reviving as I finally am buying one |

Plus I think they offer an extended warranty thing too... Steve To be honest I didn't look at the HF one. I would say things to look for is to make sure it has a safety lock. With mine you hold the safety handle while you rasie the lift. Once at the height you want you release the handle and lower it (maybe 1/4 inch) until it settles into the locked position. Also stability, I was able to got to the Greg Smith business location and try the lift out. Also make sure that the location you plan to use it on is level. One last thing is these things are heavy! While they are "portable" I sure as heck wouldn't want to try and drag it around the garage all the time. Mine is at 1klbs so you need a (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bootyshake.gif) to move it around. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |
