I posted this on the bird board and am surprised at some of the responses. Curious what you guys think:

Just curious what others deem appropriate driving etiquette.

Say you are cruising along in the left lane about 80 in a 65 and passing all the cars in the right lane.
Somebody gets on your bumper and tries to push you or persuade you to get out of their way.

Do you:
Speed up?
Slow down to change lanes so he can pass?
Ignore him?

If you ignore him, how about when you get to a big brake in right lane traffic?
Do you:
Move over and let him go?
Ignore him and let him go around you?

If I'm passing someone, I continue to pass. If there's a spot that I can move over into while passing a large line of traffic where I would be able to get back out, I do. If they get right on my bumper, I slow down or tap my brake. I certainly don't hit the brakes in any manner that slows me down when they're that close. It's a situational call, but if I seem the hauling ass up behind me, I usually work to move over or speed up to get out of the way. For all I know they may have a really good reason. Not likely but you know, broken clocks and all....

As mentioned, I'm all for letting other flush out DPS. Then again, I don't speed that much so it's a non issue.

If they turn into an absolute dick about it, that's a whole other can of worms. If I'm behind someone in the left lane and they're passing vehicles, I don't ride their bumper.

A "Texas shower" must be from the eastern part of the state... (Or mild Houston warning...) I wouldn't spray or throw anything out of a vehicle and never heard the term prior to now...

The problem is that there are a ton of people that cruise in the left lane (which DPS can write a ticket here for) and don't move over. Maybe he thought you were one of those guys? That annoys me but not nearly as much as people not moving over for an ambulance or trooper running hot. Sure, they'll stop when you're dead and have a nifty caravan, but not when someone's off to help you stay alive.
