Doesn't matter! Some fool paid 14 grand more than it's worth. They'll probably sell it in the Fatherland for even more money.
That's the name of the game - Free Enterprise. I don't like it because it raises the bar for me, since I'm looking for one. But, it IS a function of supply/demand/stupidity. |

I don't like it because it raises the bar for me, since I'm looking for one. But, it IS a function of supply/demand/stupidity. I'll throw one more opinion in, fwiw. Would "I" pay that much for this car? No. Having looked for a long time and recently purchased a genuine -6 for considerably less, and one that will need some relatively minor work (and $$) to get where I want it to be, there will always be unpleasant surprises and you will always be underwater on a resto. That is the price of entry to the resto game. Good for the guy who sold it (assuming it wasn't fraud), and I hope the guy who bought it is happy, too. Good bones and solid knowledge of each car's history is the key to these cars. Numbers matching is nice for a top-tier car, but I can tell you that a peppier engine makes these cars a ton more fun to drive. How I long for my previous -6, for which I paid $5500 in top, original condition back in 1977. - MR |
