Well, I don't drive it every day, but only because my even older Mini is better suited to the 3 mile daily 25mph drive to and from the train station. On those days I actually drive to work (25 freeway miles), I take the 914, as the Mini doesn't like the freeway at all. If I drove to work every day, I'd be driving the 914 every day, and doing whatever was required to keep it working.
