If you buy longer bolts, like you did, you can put nylock on the other end.

If you go to McMaster.com and search Belleville washers, you will find Schnorr. This was the secret I kept when I then Jim were making the safety bolts. I was selling them for $25 a set and that included the safety wire. The $72 for these over engineered doodads is ridiculous and necessary IMEO. |

If you buy longer bolts, like you did, you can put nylock on the other end. Who, me? I checked the PET, unless I'm reading things wrong the CV bolts are listed as M8x45. This was consistent with the threads on 944 CVs needing longer bolts. (I did also get a packet of M8x50's in case I find my CVs need to be replaced. Who told you!?! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) ) What I found more disturbing in the PET was that the lock washers appeared to only be spec'd for the 914-6. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) |
