There are zero (youtube) track video's of LS powered 914's posted for all to see...now there is one.
However, mine fits under the "better than nothing" category. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

PS - I forgot to mention this also might serve as a demo vid for my car (for sale). Sorry in advance
for the 30 seconds of pics at the beginning.

Hey Tony,

I sure enjoyed your footage on Road Atlanta! I have been running my 914V8
with an 383 SBC + 930 trans for a few years here on SOCAL tracks and was interested in your chassis setup.

Your car seemed very stable and drivable, so I'm wondering if your lighter LSx engine gives you a handling advantage, in addtion to acceleration.

I was hoping to learn:
1) Does your 930 have an open or LSD Diff? (I'm running a Quaife TORSEN)
2) What are you running for rear springs? (I'm using 450# springs, yielding a 526# wheel rate)

Since you seem to be the ONLY other 914V8 running on-track, I'd love to chat about chassis settings and overal handling. I'd be glad to share what I've learned and done to mine over several years of development (by trial & error). Also, I've built some spreadsheet tools, on of which calculates wheels rates by inputting spring, torsionbar and swaybar rates.

On the issue of Not being Boris, I'm with you 100%! There is just no good reason to try driving 10/10ths and putting our toys and bodies at risk. I've been there, done that years ago and the 6 week hospital visit was Not Fun!

Best,
Terry
