I have a muffler with a lot of surface rust. What is the best way to prep for spray and what spray paint is recommended? I have used the high temps at the local flaps and they always stayt to peel off after a while.

Here's where I think you get way more than you pay for:
1. Take it to a local sandblaster to clean everything up. 2. Use either "POR-15 Exhaust Manifold Grey" or "VHT 104 Grey Exhaust Paint" 3. Follow the instructions for curing. I've used both and they both have/had held up perfectly for over 5 years. The POR-15 product is more expensive. I've been using the VHT lately with excellent results. I can shoot some pics today as I'm getting ready to put the exhaust system on the GT project this week. |
