74 2.0. When I get up to operating temperature, the idle drops down below 1K and frequently stalls.
I need to backed out the adjustment screw, nearly all the way (until it starts to hiss at a really loud pitch) in order to get the idle up to 900-1000. This can't be the solution. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. |

If you need to back out the idle air bypass screw nearly all the way, the timing is off. It has to be set correctly at 27 degrees BTDC @3500 rpms with hoses off.
Setting a good idle is: Valves adjusted timing adjusted hoses installed correctly adjust air bypass and ECU when the motor is hot. Geoff |
