I don't think this one is overpriced, but setting the top of the range. Remember when you look at the NADA & Excellence prices, that some will be above in better condition/lower miles/etc. & some below for lesser cars, in order to to average their pricing.
OO 73 & 74 914-2.0s with documented low original mileage in great condition with all the records like this one have sold in the mid to high-20s with a patient seller & the right buyer looking for that color etc. If not now, then certainly within a couple of years upon full economic recovery, since they were regularly in this price range in pre-crash 2004-07. Those of you who think this is just a nice driver with 180k or 280k miles & worth $10k less are off base here. Although I've not seen it in person, the pix show the indicators that it truly is only an 80k 914 (e.g.: pedal & carpet wear, correct items, etc.). If you're a CW fanatic, then you go over it thoroughly & not replace much of anything (repair over replace), in order to keep it an all original 914 for survivor or preservation class concours use. However, there is not any room for someone like Tod to buy, resto & resell at a profit. There are some underside pix in that side scrolling Vuvox photo thingy below the data block, but I'm sure the seller would be willing to get more on request. I'm personally hoping it does sell well to help eventually justify the so much more that I'm spending to reso my old gal! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |
