I started a thread in the member vendor section to keep the garage clean. Please commit over there, and not here to keep things organized. Thanks everyone!
Member Vendor link Hey guys, so a friend of mine owns a store that sells wheel stud conversion kits for BMW's, and is getting involved in Porsches. He had mentioned being interested in selling a kit for 914's at a group buy price if enough people were interested in it. The kit includes 16 thread in studs, and 16 high quality ball seat nuts. (these nuts are not the cheap imitators. These actually fit our ball seat wheels). Both are made in Europe and are TUV certified, so it's good quality hardware. The studs are bullet nose, and thread in with an allen wrench. Installation is easy, and only require the removal of you wheels. Here's a pic from his website of the dimensions of the stud that will come with the kit: (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/www.motorsporthardware.com-9714-1352904604.1.jpg) I'll know pricing options when I get back with him later today, but for those interested, please chime in. Thanks everyone, Ethan Okay, we have pricing back Pricing: The available kits are as follows: 4-Lug (16 studs and nuts) 82mm with Silver/yellow Zinc Ball seat nuts: $100shipped 82mm with Black OEM grade Zinc Ball seat nuts: $137shipped 5-lug (20 studs and nuts) 82mm with Silver/yellow Zinc Ball seat nuts: $110shipped 82mm with Black OEM grade Zinc Ball seat nuts: $147shipped Discount structure: 1-10 kits - Prices posted above (Special introductory pricing!) 11-20 kits - $5.00off 21-30 kits - $7.00off 31-40+ kits - $10.00off We're aiming for an end date of December 9th at midnight. Payment instructions will come after the group buy has closed. For those who want to receive their studs BEFORE the group buy has ended, that is available, but you would forfeit any further discounts. For example, say we have 24 people. If you want to receive your set now, you would only be eligible for the $7 off. If the group buy reaches another discount tier, you would forfeit that discount. |

Not to (IMG:style_emoticons/default/stirthepot.gif) , but Jims link is cheaper on 4 lug cars.
5 lug cars are less expensive though. |

Unless I'm seeing things... 16 14x1.5mm 80mm studs $79.20 16 14x1.5mm yellow zinc nuts $27.04 total kit $106.24 +shipping The kit for the group buy, assuming you're getting yellow zinc nuts is only $100 shipped, and may be less if people actually start committing to them in the other thread. Not trying to start a pissing match at all, but I still believe these kits are cheaper.. |

Not trying to start a pissing match at all, but I still believe these kits are cheaper.. using the performance grade studs that appear to have the allen head installation 14mm Porsche Steel Lug Nuts M14.US.911 14mm Porsche Steel Lug Nuts $1.69 X 16 = $27.04 M14x1.5 Performance Studs M14.US.80 M14x1.5 Performance Studs (80mm) $2.95 X 16 = $47.20 equals $91.74 shipping included, YMMV Probably not apples to apples, but even using the studs you used, in your $79.20 figure, with the black nuts the cost to me would be 128.64 shipped to my door. which is less than your $137 quote as the base price. for this option. As I stated 5 lug cars are cheaper, this site is about 25% higher for the 5th lug and your offering is only 10% or less. This post has been edited by G e o r g e: Nov 19 2012, 06:16 PM |
