Quick question; does anyone know what the purpose of this little "vent" area is under the hood? I have seen it on multiple hoods now and it only appears on the passenger side. I was thinking perhaps it was a way to draw air in to dry out the hood frame (which we know still didn't work all that well since many are rusted out). I don't believe its there for clearance, or does not appear to be.

But I apparently didn't use the correct words, as the gentleman above pointed out. Sometimes people don't know how to phrase their query because they don't have enough information to even get started. Not bashing the search engine at all, its just nice to have people who like to answer questions when they know the answer. In my opinion, that's one of the points of a forum in the first place. If someone doesn't want to answer, they aren't being forced to. And if it was something that really wasn't that important, I wouldn't lose sleep because I couldn't find it with a search.
