I going to be building a DIY smoke tester to find a vacuum leak on my sons 99 Explorer.
I was wondering has anyone used one on a 914? Would it even work? http://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum1/HTML/081547.html http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbkGhUov74Q I'm thinking we would inject from the MPS hose to keep the smoke off the diaphragm. Thought? BTDT's? I am the tool whore. But I'm not feeling the love on even a well used one. |

The leak was under the intake manifold, which was impossible to find using the age-old remedies (carb cleaner, propane, etc.). Pumping the smoke into the air filter end of the intake and seeing it plume out under the manifold was glorious... |
