I picked up a set of 951 Fuchs today, 7&8 x 16. They are ugly, which is fine by me as I would like to have them blasted and do an RSR finish.
Search tells me that they have been fit to narrow body cars, but I would like to know what must be done in the rear to make them fit. I would also appreciated pictures and get some insight on tire sizing as well as ideas for spacers for the front. Thanks, Ken |

Just a thought on the 8s.
The only company making 245/45-16 tires is Bridgestone. They make them in the RE8 line, and they are about $500.00 a tire, and you will have a bitch of a time getting Discount tire to even admit that they are available. I had to find them online, and take the printout down to Discount tire. Even then the manager had to fight with the Bridgestone ordering department, because they couldn't find them in the catalog. Then I had to wait almost a month because they are a limited production run and were back-ordered. |

I didn't think that 8" rims would be possible until I found the pics of Harold's car. After reading all of the much appreciated responses, I believe that I am going to give the 8s a try in the back with 205/55s. I know that I am going to have to do some pulling/rolling, but if it looks do-able, why not? If the 8"s don't work, I will put 911 7"s on the rear and the 951 7"s up front. When/if I decide to put the flares on, I will use the 951 8"s on the rear and probably the 911 7"s on the front. Of course, I still need to actually do the 5 bolt conversion, for which the parts have been sitting on my shelves for quite a while. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) |
