As 3D printing becomes more commonplace, its going to change the way commerce is done. Instead of buying common goods, you buy plans online and print them at home.
Folks have already printed everything from car parts, firearms, parts for the human body (an ear). I have a friend who is already making pretty good money designing stuff and selling it through Shapeways. We are still where digital cameras were 15 years ago. Good resolution takes a LOT of cash and a big machine. But its not going to be long that these become commonplace. Zach |
