..at the top of the transmission housing where it mates to the engine..
I think I dropped a tin screw in one of those holes (go figure.. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) ) So now I'm assuming I need to check to make sure cuz I'm sure it'll be a bad day if it did go in there and I don't get it out... I've never separated a transmission from the engine in the 914. How big of a deal is it? Is anything gonna fly out if I just unbolt all the perimeter bolts around the edge? sigh... |

There's an equally big hole in the bottom of the transmission where it will eventually fall out. Even if it doesn't, I doubt it will do any harm.
Drop 100 screws in there and you may have a problem. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif) I agree! If it's stuck by the throw out bearing or any interior hardware you will notice it right away. The pedal may not depress or clutch will not disengage . If you start it and it drives fine, most likely you will be ok |
