Im looking for the eayest way to get a automatic transmission into a 914, I am ok with using a different engine. I have heard of people using a Audi A4 2.8 auto FWD. Is there any outer ideas? I don't need a race car, just something to cruise in. So whats the best options if i have 10k to burn on the engine and trans?

Ah well, that explains it better....if it's for your Dad maybe the Subie auto will be OK. That drive train will work pretty well, especially using the whole thing out of the same car. You KNOW it works well together because it's working now. I agree with Greg you really don't need that much cooling....the Renegade setup might be too much since it's designed for a V8 or high HP turbo 4. Do some searches...a Scirocco rad has also been used.
There are a lot of highly skilled people (unlike me) who could very easily do this conversion for you at a fair price. Maybe someone local will PM you who can help. |
