Hello World. I completed an electric conversion of my 73' 914 With 56 200AmpHour Lithium cells. http://www.evsmile.com
The car is fun and fast and has a range of 120 miles. The car weighs 2700 lbs. I beefed up the rear springs but did nothing for the front and after driving around with the extra weight including my 210lbs, the front is sagging. Any suggestions anyone. Pelican parts has torsion bars that are thicker than stock, I think 21 to 22 mm. That do the trick? Thank you!

If it is an east coast car make sure the front sheetmetal around the attachment points are solid (without rust) so they can take the additional load. Then as stated above, bigger torsions and known good shocks may be in order to control the weight.

Good point about the rust maybe the east coast car is failing. The top of the shock towers are in good shape, but I suppose that doesn't mean anything. The first question you get with an electric car is "how far does it go on a charge". So I went a bit crazy on this one with the 56 200 amp hour cells. I call it the Range Monger.
So big 200 Volt battery pack with a Soliton 1 controler and a warp 9 motor - stage two racing clutch low roll resistant tires.
I could have made a perfectly fine functioning car with less batteries and weight, but I was going for max range.
The Soliton 1 is completely programable and has been set up conservatively so I don't kill myself. I don't know about 0-60 but I did do a quater mile 80 plus miles an hour in the mid 17 seconds.
