What kind of trailer are you using? Pictures?
Been looking for a 914 size trailer for several months. Several members have purchased recently, some owned for years. Mine uses all stainless steel hardware 'sept for the axles and fenders. It is all bolted together with 3/8" bolts and nylock nuts.
