I'm not done with "you don't seem to understand what the reflector does", actually. 8)
The light is absolutely focussed, in the same (general) sense that the light from a projector is focussed; that is, it is directed from a source in some specific intended pattern. By moving the light source away from the focal point of the not-actually-parabolic reflector, you are going to change the distribution of the light in a fashion not part of the original design. The end result may or may not work as a headlight (fitment issues aside), but it won't be working as designed. |
