I am interested in your conversion.

What was the deciding factor in your choice of engine and did you have any install peculiarities unique to that engine.

Would you make the same engine choice again?

Huey is a 3.2 stock.
Papa WAS a 3.4 twin plug...now a 3.0 twin plug with much higher compression, and 315 rwhp!!

Bought Huey's 3.2 engine for $4k with harness, Motronic, etc....everything. Didn't expect it to last long, but it's been over 4 years and it starts up perfectly every time...we run autocrosses and hill climbs with it, so he's certainly not babied...

Figure spend $350 plus welding labor for engine mount, $900+/- for 914/6 oil tank, engine tins ($500??), oil cooler up front ($500), oil lines (couple hundred with fittings) labor to figure out how to run the lines, labor to figure out how to wire the engine, etc.

If you can do it all yourself, you're looking at MINIMUM $6k in parts, including the engine. Pay to have it done? yeah, probably $10k or so...

But...I LOVE the 3.2 in Huey...strong, reliable, plenty of power, but not too much... and when/if we ever get Papa back together, he should really be a beast to drive...
