(IMG:style_emoticons/default/evilgrin.gif) yep, I'm back. Issue #2 with my 914/6. I just installed the 901, just rebuilt by the very excellent Dr. Evil. Drove it home and the gears work great. However, I am getting a small "whirring" noise while driving, that goes away completely when the clutch is engaged.

Any ideas on the cause of the noise? M (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Thanks World.

nope...
not part of the gear stack

in the bell housing
a bearing to replace when you service the clutch

Prior to rebuilding the tranny I had the clutch replaced. About 10 miles ago, so it is a fresh install. I will check receipts. Thanks. But there was no noise after the clutch install. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sunglasses.gif)
