i know its not a 914,but does it have the same engine?.it was only made for a year and still has to pass smog in ca.just wondering if one of you own or have owned one.of the 912s they are the most affordable.slow,but still aircooled in that 911 body.
posting over in rennlist has not gotten any response. this forum is so good ,i know ill get some comments. i have 1 a73 914 |

The transmission is a 915 box with a 901 mainshaft so it can use a 914 clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel.
Some of the L-jet parts are unique to the 912E, including the rubber boot from the air flow meter to the throttle body. The exhaust is specific to the 912E, as are some of the other smog parts. With less than 2100 examples made, you can guess how easy it is to find the parts... I am told the car handles like a 911, and accelerates like a smog-choked 914. Not exactly the best of both worlds, at least in stock form. The modified ones can be fun, but as 1976 model year cars they still have to pass smog here in CA. I'm not real fond of them, myself, but some people really do like them. --DD |
