behind the driver's seat. there's the seatbelt wires, but also a black plug that looks like it should be hooked to something big. lots of wires going nowhere.

Respect Andy. But if they go nowhere to anything in use, it doesn't matter. But this is exactly why I mentioned joining the ground wires, which is the one possible thing that can cause trouble.

Sigh.

Use your own judgement I guess. I know what has worked for me.

BTW, I don't recommend this in general. Don't hack your wiring. But that cluster fuck under the passenger seat is an exception. It's caused way more problems than it's worth.

well i know less about wiring and electricity than i do about cars, so that's very little. i've put in a car stereo before and can change oil and spark plugs, but that's about it. hoping to learn a little from the 914 without breaking anything. i have an electrician cousin nearby who might be bored enough to help me out. i see a 914 modern fuse box upgrade on ebay. is that worth messing with?
