I have acquired a set of first generation flares and thought I would do a comparison to the green and black flares.

Green Flare Date Range- 1988 to 1990
Black Flare Date Range- 1998 to 2001

Hi, possibly a dumb question (from the man with alloy wing and arches (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) ), so apologies in advance

Whats the width of arch wheel lip and does it vary in width around the circumference? How does it compare to AA? I thought that that the OEM lip was much smaller than AA (you can't quite see it properly in Andy's pictures and looks smaller to me) and was the only give away once properly fitted and painted on a car

If true, knowing the OEM dims would be useful to anyone wanting to modify AA arches to be as close to original as possible, as one day soon all OEM arches will be truly unobtainum and finding a set even now is very hard

That is until Porsche Classic start stamping them again, as let's face it the tooling cannot be that worn (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) - fingers and toes crossed. Or they start to buy AA, tweak, and start selling as their own (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif)
