Been working on the car and sorting out issues. New shifter parts, brake parts showed up from Pelican today. I haven't even driven the car yet with the stock 2.0 and I'm already thinking about how fun the car would be with more HP. I'm not into slow cars. LOL !!! As I said I have made good HP with a type one motor and the type four is new to me. What is the word on HP. I've seen reference to Raby's 2.9 and I have the Hot VWs performance mag with his 2270 build up in it. Give me the low down on Raby HP.

Buy the heads in the thread on the main page here.
They are setup for a large bore piston. If you are a four cylinder guy, pay no attention to the six cylinder guys.... 150-180 is attainable, and not for the cost of a six.... Btdt more than a few motors, just did it again..... Most of the large bore cast iron cylinder, from what I have heard, are all coming from the same place in China. Just open the box, measure them, send back the ones that don't meet spec.....it may take you a few rounds of this to get four that are correct. Just plan for that time, and don't sweat it....you will find four that will work eventually. Rich |
