Need to replace my 17-year-old rubber after reawakening my 914-6. Any ideas for 14" tires with the approximately 25" height of the original 185X14 size. Ideally would like at least an S speed rating. Stock fender lips.
Looks like BFG TAs in 205X70X14 are closest to what I want and I've run Comp TAs in that size long ago. But I'm certain some of you have been down this road more recently and may have better ideas. Not interested in changing wheels. Thanks... Jim |

I was just going through this in my head also for my 914-6 And I came to the conclusion I will be running fake Mahle Gas Burners on it for the street. Heavy as heck, but I can still get tires.
For the 14s you can still get the old dog bones style stores, but man are they expensive!!!! $350 - $450 a pop!!! Ouch, makes my race rubber budget look cheap. Coker Tire Classic Dogbones (IMG:style_emoticons/default/first.gif) Reason I was going through this is I am trying to deceide what wheels I am going to sell out of my collection an what ones I am hoping to purchase. My -6 came from the factory with Steels. Some one put Fuch-like hub caps on it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) I was thinking about a set of 14 Fuchs I have a set of real gas burners from when you could buy them on the cheap, but I would hate to damage one. I like the gas burners so that is why I waa thinking of getting the fake cast ones. I should have never sold my 6x15 Fuchs I ran on my 914-4 before I went wide body.
