I went to install the shafts today and noticed that the bolts I have are too small (diameter). They are the right size for the transmission side. Aren't they the same?

Billy,
All of the CV bolts are the same. Could you maybe have put the bolt in one of the pin holes? That is one reason why I had wanted to do mine by removing the whole axle to include the stub axle. I had heard of others having line up issues with getting the pins in fully before being able to start the bolts with the stub axle already in the bearing housing. Try starting one or two of the bolts right in the stub axle to make sure the bolts are the right size. Tom, Made it home OK, traffic was pretty light!
