PCA Dana Point Concours on June 14, 2015, anyone going? Options

I see Andy is already registered for full concours. Anyone else going?

Although it's not really a concours car (I drive it a lot now! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ), I was thinking about entering my green 914-6 in the concours. It would push me to finish up the last few small things...

I wish I'd gotten a shot of Dave's sweet custom built low-boy car haulers which he built for this car! It was the tandem axle one in a platinum grey metallic & silver with Porsche stickers, parked at the top of the hill cul-du-sac, just past the handicapped space. Rumor is Dave is applying for a handicapped placard so nobody can park behind his rig next year! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif)

... I don't know his screen name on here, but he's won 914 class in Street for a few years running on this nice 10+/- year old resto, including last year when I judged in the Street Division (Exterior, Interior, Egine & Storage - IIRC I was Engine last year too) ....



^ I love his louvered rocker panels too! ^

Remember, we don't judge originality at these local Region & Zone 8 Concours, just preparation & presentation - just too many cars/models/MYs/sub-models/trims/etc. for anyone at this level to know them all! Originality does come into it at Parade on the national level judging though!

I built my car or I should say I completed my car 27 years ago before the internet before there were any support groups with discussion boards etc. I started my bare shell project in 1981 and completed in 1988. I used to do full concours and later entered in street. I have many years of class trophies. This in the snobbish days of not being a real Porsche. I did all the work with body paint mechanical in my rented shop. A lot of parts were NOS out of parts obsolete's warehouse of now un obtainable factory stuff. I was a kid in a candy store. I sometimes re live my project looking at yours. I ended up with .5 tenth deduction as I had no time to prepare. I got out of the hospital in ICU from a blood clot Saturday night! Good time with the teeners!

Hope all is okay with that blood clot now! Were you at St. Joseph's?

My wife whom you met with the pink hat is an RN there, & we met when she took care of my Grandfather in CCU in the 1980's, but she's in the MRI/CT section nowadays.
