So, perusing around the car I'm restoring at work... not gonna say which, but it ends with a 7, I found this old unused sticker underneath one of the floors. It appears to be a driver registration sticker from back in the early 70's.
(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/farm6.staticflickr.com-9714-1434456358.1.jpg) It asks for driver name, blood type, most recent tetanus shot, and something else that is obscured with dirt (I'm afraid to clean it) in both German, and English. Does anyone have any idea what this sticker was used for back then? This thing definitely pre-dates me by a couple (many) years. My best guess is that it was given to a driver to put on his helmet as he went through tech inspection, like they did in the SCCA back in the 80's. |

Okay, I do believe I've successfully deciphered it after some cleaning.
The sticker says RÖMER SPORTHELME, and have no clue of the significance. Obviously sporthelme is helmet, and sport, so I'm assuming race-helmet.. and Romer is a city, is it not..? The lower line is a place for "medicine" I've only found one other image of the sticker, but still cannot figure out where it may have been used.. Andy, anyone aus Deutschland? ![]() |

Bell & others here used to include a similar sticker in the box when you bought a helmet in the USA back in the 70's, so my guess is so did Romer & that one got loose! Cheers!
