So, perusing around the car I'm restoring at work... not gonna say which, but it ends with a 7, I found this old unused sticker underneath one of the floors. It appears to be a driver registration sticker from back in the early 70's.

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/farm6.staticflickr.com-9714-1434456358.1.jpg)

It asks for driver name, blood type, most recent tetanus shot, and something else that is obscured with dirt (I'm afraid to clean it) in both German, and English.

Does anyone have any idea what this sticker was used for back then? This thing definitely pre-dates me by a couple (many) years. My best guess is that it was given to a driver to put on his helmet as he went through tech inspection, like they did in the SCCA back in the 80's.

The mystery "7" car that Ethan is working on is probably shown on pg 71 of the latest #699 June 2015 Panorama - in company of the two Patricks (Long & Dempsey), for those interested.

Ethan can't be blamed for Pete Stout's editorial prowess, nor for our Porsche edumifurcation! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Your secret is safe with us! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

BTW - For those who don't get Panorama - the subscription to Panorama is only $46 a year & comes with another local PCA Region monthly magazine &/or e-Zine in most areas, admittance to many free & some paid exclusive Porsche events throughout the year and .... oh yeah, PCA Porsche Club membership for 2 - you & an "Associate" (spouse, kid, friend or whomever you name)! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Cheers! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)
