Well, I finally ponied up and bought a used Scart muffler from my French friend who is the US importer for Martin Scart.

For those of you who know me, I have an unhealthy obsession with mufflers for my car. This makes muffler #5. With that being said, I would be perfectly happy to sell all my other mufflers after using this one..

Let's start from a "factual" review of the muffler.

At idle, it sounds nice and smooth, a little lope which is moreso a result of having S cams I believe.

Cruise around town is a little more loud than a stock Bischoff muffler, but it is much deeper, and less tinny with almost no rasp.

Freeway cruise is more quiet than my stock Bischoff Stainless muffler, which is bizarre, and quite a surprise to me. There is absolutely no drone at any RPM. I sat in traffic and drove for two hours this afternoon on the freeway, and have never been comfortable volume wise in the car.

WOT, the muffler opens up to a nice volume scream, still not raspy, deep, and not remotely obnoxious. It's the perfect balance between the stock muffler, and something more akin to a 911 rally muffler, or a 911r "muffler"

Construction of the muffler is nothing short of perfection... Martin uses high grade stainless for everything, and it looks wonderful. It's a shame it has to be hidden under the car.

Okay, now for my 5 year old self's review" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

When I started it and started driving with it, it was obvious that that it sounded differently. Between cruise, WOT, and decel, I'm quite certain that this is the most quintessential "Porsche" sound I've ever heard, and I believe it should be recorded and played back over a tape and sold. It made me giddy driving the car, which hasn't happened in quite a long time. (Daily driving a car makes it lose that "specialness")

I honestly haven't been this excited about the car since I put the 6 in it.. The muffler sounds that nice. I will take some video of how it sounds tomorrow morning once I have someone to hold a camera..

Here are the pictures...
