I thought I post this as a reminder.
This morning, my wife's car was broken it to via the passenger side front window while she was shopping / in the gym. The bad news is her purse that contains driver's license, various types of ID and credit cards were in the purse. Credit cards have been compromise already. Bottom line, its the holidays and those that want a " free ride " will break into your car - if they happen to see anything of interest, even if its a sweater covering her purse. Fyi. |

That sucks....
My folks got ripped at a Safeway north of Seattle. It was a practiced lift with a set up person and a snatcher. Their credit cards were being used before they even made it to the cash register. This is a good business for scums and druggies. They used store video to see who did it. They were charging up next door a minute later. Police eventually got them doing the same thing. My folks flew back to Seattle to press charges and seek restitution. There was nothing to go after though. Long story short: new IDs take a while, new credit cards become a mess, you can't get a new SSN, the stress sucks, and you just need to manage your stuff. There is no happy ending to getting victimized. Tough lesson, but a good one for everyone here to think about. FWIW - I just bought a 2014 Acura and I basically don't leave anything in it because I figure its about as secure as our borders with a keyless remote. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/av-943.gif) |
