I purchased a carpet kit for the front trunk 2 pieces .
I need to now cut my wood .I can make a template but my question is : does the carpet wrap around the edge or is it cut the same size as the board . Also I see a "tail" is often left longer than the board so that the carpet can wrap up the backside any insight maybe a photo of the underside of a correct one would really help . Or a link ... I have studied the " front trunk " thread in originality on this forum, but still cant quite make out the needed info Tnks |

It is a bit tricky to do it exactly as the factory did it. The felt does wrap around the edge stapled. At the rear the part that forms the flap is the tricky part as it is stapled and sewn to double it up for stiffness. Hard to explain. My car had the original and I even messed up twice cutting the new felt using the Original as a template.
Some places sell it pre cut and even with a replacement board. |
