My son Taylor smacked his car in the front end. I got the front repaired, and decided to strip the paint to make proper repairs to the car. I knew there were some issues, but there was more bondo than I thought would be there. Well, time to get it done right. The old paint blistered. Needed to strip it all down, Glad I did.

Hey Mark,
There's an old school car guy trick for that hidden issue - a magnet with a thin soft cloth to protect the paint finish & a deft touch to feel when the magnetism lessens at the bondo spots! Run it all over the car body & pretty much every hidden bondo spot will reveal itself, & the extent of loss of magnetism will give you an idea of how thick it is! If the magnet completely lets go .... well you can guess! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) From someone who grew up in the days of blue suede used car salesmen in mostly unregulated used car lots, but with a Dad & Uncles & Grand-Dads who were pretty smart car guys! Well now you have a clean bare metal fresh start to clean it all up! Good Luck! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) Tom /////// |
