Curiosity got me to pondering the above questions....
Suppose non-Subaru motor for the Subaru transmission and non-Boxster/Audi engine for the Boxster transmission. What about axles and hooking up to the drive hubs? One easier or vastly less expensive than the other? EDIT 2/21/2016: Now with pictures comparing Boxster transmission to 901 transmission |

Mike, if you want to borrow my 6 speed for mock up, I would be willing. As long as you don't cut it up. thanks Mike, I'm so far off time wise on this project that I'm sure you'll have the box back in the car by the time I get around to it! I don't know... It's been sitting in my garage for 6 months waiting for me to ship it to Ohio... I know the good Dr. has plenty to do whether I send it or not. I guess I'm lazy and it's a PITA to ship. Awkward and heavy. This is a pic of the other type of 6 speed (not mine). Look at the starter location. This might be a better option for machining a rear starter solution... |
