Resin core solder doesn't use any other flux. Jim, your going to be soldering alot and I would highly recommend that you get one of these. http://www.harborfreight.com/helping-hands-60501.html . Not so much for the magnifier but to hold your solder joint steady as it cools. If your solder joint moves before it is cooled you will have a "cold joint". Not good. A good solder joint will be shiny. A cold joint will have dull finish.
