Is there a law covering how bright the lights can be? I know the blue lights ricers use are blinding.

The "ricer lights" you see ...also on lifted "bro trucks" are a product of installing HID lights into halogen housings. (Its a personal pet peeve of mine)

Basically people not doing an HID headlight conversion using HID projectors that control the HID light signature.

I did a HID conversion on my Subaru, but sourced projectors from an Acura TSX. Stick the headlight in the oven at 200 degrees, split the headlight housing and install the projectors from an HID car.

Can you give us a more detailed procedure? I did a plug and play HID in my Element and would like to improve it and not kill other drivers' eyes.

I have had great luck with The Retrofit Source for all the parts required...including LED if you want to go that direction.

You can buy HID 7" round lights complete if you want to go the lazy route:

I highly recommend if you want to do a legit retrofit to use a projector designed for retrofitting ( so you don't have to trim away a bunch of material)
