So I finally got all my brake stuff together, SS lines on, new hard lines going on, calipers painted and reloaded.
Well, the damn rotor seems to be sitting to far away from the caliper mounter ears. It appears to be an 1/8th of an inch or so off. I went and measured the old rotor and new rotor using the distance from the flat area where the wheel touches to the edge of the rotor itself. See diagram. WTF is going on? These have been drilled for 5 lug, so that complicates the (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) Attached image(s) |

Here's a thought....
Q-1) does anyone remember how much you need to machine off the BMW 320 rotor to make them fit on the 914 mount? Q-2) is machining required for the early or late car? Maybe you can have some 320 calipers cut to fit faster than you can get the replacement rotors. Just a thought. I know I could have them done locally with a two day turn-a-round. |
