Simular to what occurs when a car comes up for sale and it inevitably gets made into a post then ends up being examined by the best in "The World" warts and all......has anyone in the group ever thought about putting their car in the danger zone only to wonder what those in "The World" would say? What pointers or suggestions might be made?

I'm not talking about the COTM, which is great, what I am talking about is having the cojones and confidence in your whip to put it on the block and receive unbiased feedback about it.

Could you Handle the truth?

The intention is not to cause drama or hate.

In fact with out the ability to observe and criticize or praise someone's efforts we really go nowhere. Innovation is most likely to happen in a idea rich environment with free exchange of ideas.

That's not how innovation happens.

Here's the difference:

Anybody can have an idea.

A plan takes and idea and makes it real. True..it doesn't happen in a vacuum. The best innovators don't give a rat's ass about what others think.

What is your story with 914's?

What is your story with 914's?

My story?

I will take a stab at what I think you are asking.

The urge to fix things and bring them back from disrepair started when I was in grade school when I got an old dirt bike that did not run, took it apart and found the problem.

Since then I have repaired/restored numerous amphibious atv's, midsize farm tractors (mainly Allis Chalmers WD45's and small Oliver Dozers) , inboard wood boats (primarily Chris Craft but did do a few Correct Craft and Higgins mahogany boats), many differing makes and model of snowmobiles, then graduated to automobiles.

pop owned and operated a body shop in South Minneapolis
( mostly dealership work) where I found myself painting cars. One of his largest accounts was Carousel Porsche Audi. Driving all the Porsche products starting in the mid 70's was quite a kick. 911's, 928's, 924's, 944's and 914's. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't mind owning a older 911 or 356a (my dad had many of these over the years)
But I always had a "thing" for the 914 sick as it was. Last winter I had finished off and sold my latest project (a M29 Weasel) and saw a 914 on CL. It was a 74 Bahiia Red. Shortly after I purchased it, I found three more 914's, two 72's and a 75 with many parts and pieces.

Currently I am organizing and cataloging all the parts.....after that is completed will be welding up a rotisserie and get started on the two 74's. The hope being by the time I'm done with them, I will have learned enough to make the 74 and 75 very nice.

So that's my story.
