Another LED solution, ...seen on TheSamba Options

$209 for the pair? Sounds too good to be true. Anyone have any experience with these?

This evening I installed a set of Optix LED's on my 914. They appear to be Chinese clones of the Truck-ltes. With an ebay coupon for $20 off, they came to $114 for the pair. Even without coupon, $134 seems pretty inexpensive.

All I can say is WOW! I compared the first one next to the Hella H4. No pun intended but a night and day difference.

Install was a breeze. The cable connector easily tucked in above the headlight so no worries about it getting caught up in the door.

I would like to warn you, the outer plastic lens will start yellowing after 6 months.

To avoid that, install headlight protectant film, which has a UV coating.

Look for a 2015 Jeep Wrangler, as that have the same headlights, that film will apply to those and help protect the plastic.

Given that I probably do less than an hour of night driving per year in the 914, I'll hopefully be good for a while. Maybe by then, Nighthawks will be going for $30 a pair at the local FLAPS.
