OK, what's what here. In another thread Tom posted a factory data sheet re: '73 914. It list the Curb Weight as 2145 and the As Tested weight as 2460. Just curious because my water cooled 6 conversion came in as 2340 with a full tank, spare tire and tools in the trunk. I should add this was before I added the AC but the compressor was on the engine so I'm probably about 25 lb's heavier now. TIA, Kent (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

That was probably the 73 R&T article which I posted Kent, which was based on the factory numbers in the owner's manual & other Porsche/VW specs..
Curb weight today would only include the car with all fluids full (fuel, oil, coolant, trans fluid, etc.) & a 150 lb driver. However, I don't know how closely that was followed back in the day. So for your 6 conversion - fill all fluids, remove the tool box & other shittage, weigh the car & add 150 lbs for a "standard driver" to get your as-modified curb wt. FYI - Full March/April 1973 R&T article on the "914-2": ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() > Note that I had my `73 914-2.0 up to 126 mph indicated on stock 165HR15 tires (IIRC it was at 5600 rpm - with a non-limiting distributor rotor), on I-15 through the Virgin River Gourge back in the 1970's (after midnight), so the performance specs from Porsche were often understated. (I'll have to hunt to find my pix of the earlier Jan-Feb 1973 MT "914S" article, in order to post it in a later post.)
