I'm paint shopping and wanted to compare the actual formulas for the various colors I'm favoring. I've been to the paint supplier but don't want to be taking up that much of their time with a list.
Anyone with a secret insider link? |

I don't think you're ever going to find that info. That's as proprietary as it gets. My guess would be that any supplier found to have published formulas for say, PPG, would be subject to legal action. I'm sure that info would also be pulled extremely quickly and that supplier would no longer be selling PPG product. I'm sure once the other manufacturers found out, that supplier would lose those accounts as well.
As big as those paint manufacturers are, it really is a rather small world and all those paint guys know each other from past work experience, paint trials among manufacturers, etc. Ask me how I know... |
