I have a '75 2.0L car and just took a GA engine out of it. I think GA was used for that year? Please correct me if I'm wrong. I also have a GC case. Is there a big difference between the cases?

The heads were only different on some of the GC motors, the ones with air injection. Those have the extra holes into the exhaust ports. Other than that, they are the same as the GA heads. And there were GC motors without supplemental air injection; their heads were the same as the GA heads.
The only real difference between the two motors was the terrible horrible no-good exhaust on all of the 75-76 914s. There were different part numbers used in a lot of the FI components as well, but those differences appear to be relatively subtle. The exhaust is the big difference. --DD |
