Hello members
I have a '76 2.0 with an upgraded big bore powerplant from FAT. I do some autocross with it and take it out to shows. Is there an option for a stronger/longer lasting clutch other than original? if so, are there any downfalls other than pedal pressure, premature thrust bearing failure, tranny or other issues it can cause. Thanks for the guidence.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I plan to pull the engine out completely for the first time and check everything thoroughly. When I received the car it had some trans/shaft leaks so I just dropped the clutch and gearbox and replaced disk only. What should I look for on the pressure plate? I will look for the step down on the flywheel and replace bushings and seals. Anything else? IIRC it was a 4 spring disc that I put in the last time. Play in pedal right now is 1 3/4"

some times the cheapest way is not the best value,ya gotta have good stuff if your gonna work it hard at AX... look for bluing and cracks migrating from the bolt holes..if it was me everything between the motor and trans would be new good luck
