I purchased a new throttle cable from Pelican. Yes it was the cheapest one they had. I figured it's a cable, how bad can it be. The ferrel that is on the end which mates to the firewall fell off when I removed it from the packaging. I installed it anyway. Needles to say, I am greatly disappointed. What a piece of junk. We used to run some really nice cables in the off road cars. Thick didn't bind etc. But the few places that used to carry them are all out of business. Please direct me to a good cable. I don't want to do this 3 times.

Just to clarify, this isn't about the vendor, it's about the brand of the product. Terrycable is a safe buy.

I have had only positive experiences from Pelican over years and years... in my case I ordered 2 cables at once. one as maintenance for the race car the 2nd as a back up spare to carry to the race track. I broke one cable installing it thought it was a fluke, and put the 2nd cable on went to the track and after 10 minutes of track time, the cable bound internally and the throttle stuck wide open on track. this cable had 10 minutes of use on it from new. very very bad cables. brant |
